Description
Semax is a synthetic neuropeptide originally developed in Russia for neurological disorders and cognitive impairment. It has been investigated for ischemic stroke, traumatic brain injury, ADHD, cognitive decline, and optic nerve disorders. Research suggests it enhances neurotrophic signalling, particularly brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), while reducing neuroinflammation and supporting neuronal repair. Most human evidence comes from Russian clinical studies, with limited international replication. Although results are promising, Semax remains an investigational peptide outside Russia and is not approved by the FDA or EMA.
